About the Presentation

Are you pulling your hair out as a PM on your project? Are people not following up like you asked them to for the 100th time?  Are you dealing with infighting and team struggles?  Do you feel overworked, overwhelmed and stressed out?  Come to this session, relax, and learn a few tips that you can implement now to help ease the effects of working intense projects. As a Project Managers you know you are the front line of any project and often take the brunt of the stress of balancing project needs, issues, and executive pressure.  The effects of a stressful project can affect your sleep, performance, and health. 

Join us for an interactive session where we will talk about five tips that you can implement now to help mitigate some of these stressors and help you focus on your own self-care.  Whether you’re a top executive, business analyst, man or woman, it can be easy to lose track of what’s most important – you!  This session will expose you to some easy to implement techniques that have given me results and that you can do now to start feeling and performing better.

About the Speaker

Liana Underwood, Oracle, Inc., Project Manager

Liana has been working in the IT Project Management profession for over 14 years and enjoys exploring the soft skills of the profession.  As a busy Mom, Project Manager, Wife, Friend, Colleague, and Volunteer she knows first hand how difficult it is to find work-life-balance.

Liana has the privilege of working with a dynamic and inspiring team for Oracle, Esri, and Sage in the Washington, DC region since 2001. She’s been part of several diverse teams in the program management space and has proven results in increasing stakeholder satisfaction on the projects she works. Her specialty is process improvement, team collaboration and fostering an environment of camaraderie coupled with results. 

She has over 18 years in the IT field, and 10+ years in IT Project Management supporting middleware deployment, engineered hardware systems, application development projects, and project and program facilitation.  Liana also has been volunteering for the Project Management Institute Washington DC chapter since 2014.

Ms. Underwood has her Master’s Degree in Management from Marymount University and a BA in Geology from Bloomsburg University. She delights in the journey of her career and is always open to exploring ways to grow, help people, and enjoy life.  In her spare time, she enjoys teaching indoor cycling, going to kiddo sporting events, staying active, and exploring self-improvement.
